FASHION TALK

Hello gorgeous and welcome back to a new post! Today we are talking choker necklaces, one of the most well-known and loved trends over the years. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic, so if you have any, join the conversation down below. Other than that, I hope you find this post inspiring and I wish you a lovely day!
One of my favorite looks
The choker necklace is a close-fitting necklace worn around the neck, that first appeared in 1798 in France. They were firstly worn by wealthy ladies, ballerinas and also by queens. Chokers became even more important in the 90’s as a popular trend, and they’re back once again. This trend has become popular due to the ability of styling it in enormous ways and styles. There are a few types of chokers like tattoo and vintage, and back in the history they also had different meanings. The upper class wore certain types of chokers different from the red or black ribbon that the prostitutions wore in the late 19th century. The choker necklace can be made of a variety of materials, including leather, metal, velvet, lace, plastic and they can also be adorned in different ways, including studs and sequins.

In the beginning I wasn’t of fan of this type of necklace since I thought they were way too tight and it felt like I could get breathing issues. But after a few years and after I’ve seen many different styles and many influencers wearing them and looked stylish, I felt inspired and I started to love them. My love for them is kind of turning into an innocent obsession, because of the way they can completely change a look and add a touch to an outfit. Some of them can be elegant or edgy, or even a combination between these two is the cherry on the top of the cake for any outfit. It really depends on your style and of course your outfit, but I have to admit that the combination between a girly outfit and a cool looking choker necklace or vice versa it’s something that I really like.

There are a variety of styles, colors and types you can choose from, and there are also a variety of prices. I feel like the choker necklaces can get really expensive, and if it’s a basic one it’s maybe a better idea to do it yourself instead of buying a black piece of material for way too many dollars. Try to find the best alternative when purchasing a choker necklace! I found a few that I really like and if you like them as well, click on the link that will direct you to where you can purchase them.
