It's a fairytale

Once upon a time fashion fell in love with fairytales. Designers have been telling their own version of princesses in towers, evil stepmothers, houses made of gingerbread and beautiful endings on numerous catwalks over the last few seasons. With all the new movie versions of well-known fairytales coming out, ( like Mirror Mirror, Maleficent and Cinderella), but also the attempt of designers to bring back the magic vibes, it’s not a surprise I fell in love too.

Dolce & Gabbana’s fall/winter 2014 collection named Enchanted Sicily was all about Red Ridding Hood, capes and hoods. Alexander McQueen was inspired by Snow White and created a whole collection dedicated to fluffy textures and cold shades just to keep her warm. Many more other designers have become a part of the tale through the creations they created, that reminds every girl the fascinating life of a princess.

Fairytales are an inspiration to designers and an important factor in fashion. They’re the stories that we all know by heart, stories that makes us daydream and teaches us life lessons. Stories we have known since we were little, stories we knew before couldn’t even read, but thanks to those who have introduced us to the beautiful world where everything is possible, where the good stands before the bad and where everything ends with “ and they lived happily ever after ” As famous Albert Einstein said, “ If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

Forget your modern right-now life and start daydreaming, even if life has no fairy tale endings, life has fairy tale moments.
